Terms of Service

By accessing or using MemDev (the "Service"), including memdev.app and the mempress CLI, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

The Service

MemDev is a terminal session memory tool that captures, compresses, and retrieves developer context. The core is open source (MIT licensed) and runs locally on your machine. Cloud sync and team features are available on paid tiers.

Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Use the Service to capture or store data you do not have authorisation to access
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary model weights
• Resell or sublicense access to paid features without our written permission
• Transmit malicious code or interfere with the Service's infrastructure
• Impersonate MemDev, its team, or any other person

Open Source Core

The open source components of MemDev are licensed under the MIT License. You are free to use, modify, and distribute them in accordance with that licence. Paid cloud features and proprietary model weights are not included in the open source licence.

Intellectual Property

The MemDev name, logo, and website design are the property of MemDev. The mempress codebase and documentation are MIT licensed. Fine-tuned model weights distributed as part of paid tiers remain proprietary.

Terminal Data

You retain full ownership of all terminal session data captured by MemDev. We do not claim any rights over your code, commands, or session content. Local data never leaves your machine without your explicit consent.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI-generated session summaries will be accurate or complete. See our AI Disclaimer for details.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MemDev shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to paid features for violation of these Terms. Open source software remains available under its MIT licence regardless.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
