MemDev ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use MemDev and visit memdev.app.
MemDev is built privacy-first: by default, all terminal session data is stored locally on your machine and never leaves your control.
When you sign up for early access or contact us, we collect:
MemDev's observer captures terminal commands, file changes, and git state on your machine. This data is stored locally in ~/.local/state/mempress/ — a SQLite database on your own device. It is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.
If you enable cloud sync, session data is encrypted and sent to a storage bucket you control (S3-compatible). MemDev never stores your terminal data on our infrastructure.
If you accept analytics cookies, we collect anonymised usage data about how visitors interact with memdev.app (pages visited, time on page, referrer). This data does not contain personally identifiable information.
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect any personal information we hold. Terminal session data never reaches our servers by default — the architecture is local-first by design.
We retain email addresses on our waitlist until you unsubscribe. Local session data is retained on your machine until you delete it using mempress purge or by removing the local database.
We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to third parties. We use Cloudflare to host this website; their privacy policy applies to infrastructure-level data.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@memdev.app.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify early access members of material changes by email.
